Cúpla Score is a free Irish quiz game for anyone who wants to learn Irish online, whether you left school with a cúpla focal of Gaeilge or you are starting from scratch. You travel across a map of Ireland, from Baile Átha Cliath to Béal Feirste, through 24 short levels. Each one takes about a minute and turns the Irish language into a quick challenge instead of a lesson.
Along the way you pick up the Irish words and phrases people actually use: how to say hello in Irish (Dia duit, literally "God to you"), please and thank you, Irish numbers from a haon to a deich, Irish colours, family, food, the days of the week, the weather and the signs you see every day. Words you get wrong come back in later levels, so they stick.
The rounds mix matching, picking the right word, building sentences, a speed round and a spelling check for the fada, the accent that changes the sound and sometimes the meaning of a word. All the Irish follows An Caighdeán Oifigiúil, the official written standard, and every answer shows you the correct word.
